Scale: 73 apartments with a 53 space underground car park

This site which was a redundant two-storey brick commercial building previously occupied by Marconi. Whilst the principle of the development had been set by an earlier consent, the scheme by JG provided 60% more units within the same height. It also provided a communal landscaped area at the first level.
The scheme was praised in a report to the city council as producing ‘an attractive, lively contemporary addition to the more traditional, solid buildings of Pandongate House and the Castlegate Centre and contributes dramatically to the enhancement of this part of Newcastle.
