This large brownfield site is a significant part of the South Macclesfield Development Area. Much of the remaining land is owned by Cheshire East Council. The site is currently being promoted by the Council for residential use and the wider development area has the potential for approximately 1,000 dwellings. The Council have planning permission for 350 houses and 40,000 sq ft of commercial/retail space.
